Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) for full-time, 40 hours per week. The role supports phlebotomy services and daily workflow, with 5a-5p weekdays and 5a-9a weekends plus holiday rotation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy/lab experience, and preferred phlebotomy certification. The position involves training LTAs, coordinating shifts, and ensuring quality and safety in a dynamic clinical lab

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy/lab experience required.
• Graduate of Phlebotomy Training program preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred; ASCP certification/eligible within a year.

Responsibilities

• Train LTAs and students; maintain current competency checklists.
• Coordinate and monitor activities of LTAs on shifts.
• Distribute work and liaise between Laboratory and other departments.
• Show advanced skills in specimen collection and computer troubleshooting for LIS
• Direct specimens to appropriate departments and ensure proper reporting.
• Follow safety policies, PPE usage, and quality improvement in daily operations.
