Job summary

BMCHS Laboratory Department is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) for 32 hours per week, 2:30p-11p, every other weekend. The role includes training LTAs and students, coordinating shifts, and ensuring efficient phlebotomy services.

Applicants should have phlebotomy and lab experience with a high school diploma; phlebotomy certification is preferred. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality in specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy and lab experience required.
• Graduate of phlebotomy training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train new LTAs and students, maintain competency checklists.
• Coordinate and monitor LTAs on assigned shifts.
• Distribute work and liaise between the Laboratory and other Departments.
• Perform specimen collection and LIS procedures.
• Review specimen status and ensure timely tests.
• Ensure safety and PPE compliance.
• Maintain records and inventory.
