Responsibilities

Provides general information in person and by phone, assisting customers in locating materials, connecting with library services, or providing information about the library; refers questions to the appropriate resource.
Assists customers with self-checkout machines by instructing how to charge, renew, and discharge library materials.
Registers customers by issuing and updating library cards.
Maintains orderly service areas.
Maintains periodical collections, sorts gift items, and prepares new books for circulation as directed.
May help customers with basic technology and Internet problems.
May assist Librarians with programming, as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
