Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc (AMA) is seeking a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. The CAD Model Design Intern will support the Entry Systems Modeling project to develop free flight and forced oscillation model design for rapid prototype fabrication.

The CAD modeling tasks include producing models in .igs/.stp and native CAD formats, preparing parts for FDM 3D printing, and designing configurations enabling

Qualifications

Undergrad or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
Minimum 2 years CAD modeling experience or 2 CAD courses.
Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

Develop models in .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting interfaces.
Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners for mounting to balance stings.
Create CAD solid models for free flight wind tunnel models using 3D printing methods.
Design models to enable a movable center of gravity.
