Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) seeks a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley.

The role focuses on developing free flight and forced oscillation models for rapid prototype fabrication and testing of blunt entry vehicle geometries. Responsibilities include CAD modeling in .igs/.stp formats, creating oscillation configurations, and designs to accommodate mounting interfaces and movable centers of gravity, with on-site work at

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 2 years' CAD modeling experience or 2 semesters of CAD coursework.
• Experience with .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models as .igs/.stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting references.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners for balance sting mounting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing.
• Design models to enable movable center of gravity.
