Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a part-time CAD Modeling Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. The role focuses on developing free flight and forced oscillation models for rapid prototype fabrication and validation data for trajectory simulations.

The intern will create CAD models in .igs/.stp, design oscillation configurations, and enable movable center of gravity, with on-site work at NASA Langley.

Qualifications

• Undergrad/grad student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 2 years CAD model development or two CAD courses.
• Experience with .igs or .stp and the native CAD format.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models in .igs or .stp, and the native CAD format.
• Develop CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting interfaces at reference points.
• Design geometry to accommodate thermal inset fasteners for mounting to the balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing or similar.
• Design the models to enable a movable center of gravity.
