Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a part-time CAD Modeling Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. The CAD Model Design Intern will develop free flight and forced oscillation model designs for rapid prototype fabrication and validation data for trajectory simulations.

Ideal candidates are undergraduate or graduate students in mechanical or aerospace engineering with CAD experience (.igs/.stp) and the ability to work onsite at

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 2 years CAD modeling experience or 2 CAD course semesters.
• Experience with .igs/.stp and native CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

• Develop models as .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting reference points.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners on the balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models of free flight wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing.
• Enable a movable center of gravity in models.
