Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, help customers, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and support opening/closing procedures.

You will process directives, maintain displays, help with ordering and payroll records, and ensure loss prevention. Maintain clean, safe store conditions and assist the Store Manager in training staff while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as described.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and internal communications related to store activities.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged items, recordkeeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Contribute to overall store appearance and operation.
