Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, improve customer service, and develop team members at our Louisiana location.

You will assist with merchandise flow from delivery to floor, manage opening/closing, and support loss prevention, ensuring a clean, organized, and friendly store environment. This role emphasizes leadership, communication, and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
