Family Dollar LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will help manage daily tasks, organize merchandise flow, ensure policy compliance, and assist in training Store Associates while maintaining a welcoming and efficient store atmosphere in Lansing, MI. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat
• Other duties as assigned
