Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II for Chimney Rock State Park. The role involves hands-on upkeep of park grounds, buildings, and equipment, plus basic custodial tasks, boundary work, trail maintenance, and more.

Preferred candidates have multi-trade experience (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or auto mechanics) and background in grounds and building maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of progressive trades experience or equivalent.
• Experience in two or more trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, auto mechanics).
• Grounds upkeep and building/facilities maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled trades work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or auto mechanics.
• Operate equipment and tools of varying sizes.
• Purchase resources per state policies; maintain records and forms.
• Assist in housekeeping; supervise staff or volunteers on projects.
