Job summary

The State of North Carolina, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, has an opening for a Maintenance/Construction Technician II (S) at William B. Umstead State Park in Raleigh.

The role performs grounds and facilities upkeep, basic trades, and may supervise staff or volunteers on special projects. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related trade experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of progressive experience in the assigned trades.
• Demonstrated work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.
• Ability to perform grounds maintenance and operate park facilities equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled tasks in trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Operate large and small equipment and tools used in park maintenance.
• Assist with housekeeping, groundskeeping and on-site project support.

Skills

Trade experience in carpentry, masonry

Education

High school diploma or GED

1 year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas
