Job summary

State of North Carolina - Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III for Jones Lake State Park to maintain park grounds, buildings, and equipment. The role includes supervising one full-time staff and multiple seasonal workers, performing skilled trades, and supporting custodial and grounds tasks.

The position requires blueprints interpretation, safety adherence, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of related trade experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or structural specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tasks in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or facility maintenance.
• Operate and repair a variety of tools and equipment used in park maintenance.
• Maintain records and assist in purchasing and safety documentation.
• Supervise temporary or seasonal staff on projects as needed.
• Support park rangers and other maintenance staff in grounds and building upkeep.
