Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III to maintain park grounds, buildings, facilities and equipment at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area in Apex, NC. The role supports park rangers and maintenance staff in custodial duties and site maintenance across multiple areas.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with two years of progressive trade experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of progressive trade experience.
• Preferred certifications and ability to obtain required state qualifications.
• Ability to perform multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tasks in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and mechanics.
• Operate and repair various tools and equipment.
• Maintain records and forms for operations.
• Assist in housekeeping and supervise volunteers on projects.
• Maintain preventative maintenance on tools and facilities.
