Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members in Wagoner, Oklahoma seek an entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle and high school.

You will coach and mentor students to improve academic outcomes, attendance, and behavior while planning progress, partnering with teachers, and contributing to whole-class instruction and small-group interventions.

Qualifications

• Becoming an AmeriCorps member requires a strong commitment to helping students succeed.
• Ability to coach and mentor diverse groups of students and adapt to classroom needs.
• Willingness to participate in training and collaborate with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to build literacy and math skills.
• Develop behavior management strategies and monitor student progress with teachers.
• Support school initiatives and prepare engaging, safe learning environments.
• Assist with data collection and review of student progress for instructional planning.
• Plan, implement and lead after-school or extended day activities as needed.
