Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member serves as a student success coach and mentor in elementary to high school settings, delivering 1:1 and small-group support to improve academics, attendance, and behavior, while partnering with teachers on in-class instruction and planning.

New members receive 2–4 weeks of training and ongoing support from teachers, plus benefits such as health insurance, a bi-weekly living stipend, relocation assistance, and access to education awards after service, with a start

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or mentoring students preferred but not required.
• Ability to develop literacy or math activities for varied levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to each student.
• Create and implement behavior management and track progress.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and analyze student data.
• Help create an engaging and safe classroom space with teachers.
