Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor as part of AmeriCorps. You will coach and mentor students across elementary to high school, supporting academic achievement, attendance, and positive behaviors.

Training is provided at the start, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to monitor progress and impact. You will work in a high-energy school environment, planning activities, supporting literacy and math growth, and helping students build skills

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025
• Agree to and complete a background check
• DACA status not eligible at this time

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success and improve attendance
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with instruction
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers
• Support and implement literacy and math activities tailored to student level
• Lead or support extended day and virtual activities and student clubs
• Record and monitor student progress using City Year data systems

Education
