Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a results-driven outside sales professional to join our team in the Town of Clay, NY. You will manage a defined territory, secure distribution, negotiate terms, and drive growth by expanding existing accounts and cultivating new business with customers of all sizes.

Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent outside sales experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication, time management, and negotiation skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3–5 years of outside sales experience with a proven track record.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record for last 3 years.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated and manage time effectively.
• Ability to use independent judgment in negotiating sales agreements.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience in corrugated material or paper sales.

Responsibilities

• Achieves sales goals and executes sales plans in territory.
• Secure and maintain distribution, provide pricing, negotiate and maintain sales agreements.
• Create, monitor, revise lead generation plans to create a substantive sales opportunity pipeline.
• Satisfy customer needs and expand business by maintaining relationships.
• Coordinate with design department to improve existing designs and develop new designs.
• Review opportunities and improve procedures with sales manager and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Account management including recordkeeping, credit applications, forecasts, budgets and credit collections from delinquent accounts.
