Job summary

Opella is seeking a Shift Lead Packaging Technician to oversee a packaging line and lead technicians on the shift. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with accountable leadership on the 6:30am–3:00pm shift.

You will drive AM/SMS standards, manage team development, and ensure delivery of OEE improvements while complying with site policies and dress code. Prior packaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing and operating high-speed packaging equipment.
• Proficient with packaging machinery and related tools (fillers, cappers, labelers).
• Must be able to lift 25–60 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Willing to undergo training and comply with dress code.

Responsibilities

• Role model servant leadership, empowerment, engagement, ownership, safety, and quality.
• Lead the shift team and coordinate with equipment owners on your line.
• Ensure execution of AM and SMS standards and drive +QDCI results.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other organizations and department leaders.
• Manage personnel systems to grow team capability (IDPs, performance discussions, etc.).
• Drive improvements in OEE and maintain HSE and Quality compliance.
• Perform process confirmations and ensure adherence to standards.
• Guide team in executing on all +QDCI metrics.
