Zusammenfassung

IPG/Better Packages is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of packaging equipment at customer locations in Niagara Falls, NY. You will ensure equipment uptime, support production needs, and deliver high-level technical service in the field.

Ideal candidates have hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical associate degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical and electromechanical systems; diagnose faults at customer sites.
• Strong mechanical skills to disassemble and reassemble components.
• Experience in packaging automation systems is preferred.
• Proficient with PC applications for documentation and reporting.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters.
• Excellent communication to explain technical issues to non-technical people.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, manuals and assembly drawings.
• Strong customer service, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel, averaging 30% of the work week.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license or passport for travel.

Aufgaben

• Install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on site for IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and minor automation issues using testing tools and documentation.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Support field testing of new products and prototypes and provide feedback for improvements.
• Follow field service procedures, issue RMA requests, and maintain accurate records.
• Perform software upgrades on WAT units and related equipment as required.
• Assist Senior Technicians during complex field service jobs and escalations.
• Travel up to 30% of the work week; remote work not typical.
