Job summary

Amcor in the United States is seeking a Capital Projects Engineer to manage complex projects for PET preforms and rigid containers from concept to qualification across multiple sites. You will oversee productivity, timing and budget while supporting cost-reduction initiatives in manufacturing locations.

The role requires seven+ years in plastics packaging engineering with project management, strong technical and analytical skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years in plastics packaging engineering with project management experience.
• Experience with plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple resources and on-site projects.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action implementation plan with cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements and plan upgrades.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment including tooling, workflow, and vendors.
• Publish weekly project status reports outlining projects status and issues.
• Create and maintain division level technical specifications and standards for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants regularly to monitor long-term project performance and issue resolution.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
