Job summary

Amcor in the United States seeks a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects in PET preforms and rigid containers manufacturing. You will review products from a manufacturing perspective and oversee multiple projects across sites from conception to qualification, balancing productivity, timing, and budget while supporting cost-reduction initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, 7+ years in plastics packaging, and proven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years of professional engineering experience in the plastics packaging industry.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and provide support for the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into a mutually acceptable action plan meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements.
• Develop and manage plans for upgrades and expansion requirements.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment including machinery, tooling, and workflow.
• Communicate and publish weekly project status reports.
• Travel ~60%.
