Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to manage complex capital projects for PET preforms and rigid containers. You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective and lead multiple projects across sites from conception to qualification, with focus on productivity, timing, and budget.

You will support productivity and cost-reduction initiatives within manufacturing locations, while coordinating with Regional Directors, Plant Managers and resources. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years engineering and 7+ years project management experience in plastics packaging.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and manage multiple resources. Experience managing direct reports.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing on-site projects.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans meeting cost and timing.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades.
• Evaluate performance and cost of equipment, tooling, and workflow.
• Publish weekly status reports on project status and issues.
• Maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation.
• Collaborate with plants to understand long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Travel ~60%.
