Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in the United States seeks a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects for PET preforms and rigid containers. You will oversee multiple projects across sites, from conception to qualification, focusing on productivity, timing, and budget while supporting cost-reduction efforts within manufacturing locations.

The role requires seven-plus years in engineering and project management within plastics packaging, strong leadership, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years engineering experience in plastics packaging with 7+ years project management.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and people skills.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing on-site projects.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action plan with input from regional directors and plant resources.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment, including tooling and workflow.
• Publish weekly project status reports.
• Create and maintain technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants and resolve project issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
