Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned Engineering Project Leader to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers. You will oversee multiple projects across sites, from concept to qualification, driving productivity, budget adherence and schedule.

Responsibilities include BOM creation, feasibility refinement and cost analysis. The role requires seven years in plastics packaging, strong leadership and the ability to work with regional directors and plant managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging with project management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Experience managing direct reports and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with SPC and related quality/process control methods.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are integrated into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an actionable implementation plan meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades.
• Analyze equipment performance and cost, including tooling and workflow evaluations.
• Communicate status, resolve budgetary issues and publish weekly project reports.
• Maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly interact with plants to monitor long-term project performance and issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Travel approximately 60% of the time.
