Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Senior Engineer to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers. You will oversee multiple projects across sites from conception to qualification, ensuring productivity, timing and budget adherence.

Responsibilities include BOM creation, feasibility refinement, and ongoing performance analysis, with a focus on safety, environment, and cost control. Expect extensive travel and leadership of cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum seven years professional engineering experience in the plastics packaging industry.
• Seven years of project management experience.
• Knowledge of plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple resources and complex projects.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing on-site projects.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action implementation plan with cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements.
• Develop and manage plans for upgrades and expansion requirements.
• Analyze and evaluate the performance and cost of new, proposed or existing equipment.
• Publish weekly project status reports outlining projects status and issues.
• Create and maintain division level technical specifications, standards and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants to understand long term project performance and support resolution of plant issues.
• Travel ~60%.
