Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Capital Projects Manager to oversee complex projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers across multiple manufacturing sites. You will manage from conception to qualification, ensuring productivity, schedule adherence and budget compliance while supporting cost reduction initiatives.

The role requires strong engineering expertise, seven years of project management experience in plastics packaging, and the ability to coordinate with Plant Managers and Directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging, including seven years of project management experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical information and to complete project assignments.
• Strong management, communication and people skills required to influence and manage multiple resources, most of which do not report to the senior program manager.
• Experience managing direct reports
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and provide support for the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into a mutually acceptable action implementation plan, meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; manage upgrades and expansion plans.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment; evaluate machinery, tooling, workflow, and vendors.
• Publish weekly project status reports outlining projects status and issues.
