Job summary

POWERX seeks a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute protection testing across substations and ensure robust commissioning. You will interpret relay logic, validate CT/PT tests, and contribute to complex projects up to 765 kV while mentoring junior engineers.

You will work in a field‑heavy role with minimal supervision, collaborating with a skilled team to deliver safe, compliant protection schemes and system validation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high‑voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV preferred.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent relay platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing using Doble, Omicron, RTS, SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista and similar platforms.
• Test and validate protection elements including line, transformer, bus, feeder, breaker failure, and transfer trip schemes.
• Perform CT/PT testing with correct ratio, polarity, and timing; verify single‑point grounding.
• Interpret relay logic and event data; communicate findings clearly to Lead.
• Read One‑lines and schematics; navigate wiring diagrams and drawings with accuracy.
• Support switching activities and outage coordination; prepare pre‑energization readiness with Lead oversight.
