Job summary

POWERX in Louisville, KY is seeking a P&C Test Engineer II to execute commissioning and testing scopes under the supervision of a Senior or Lead Test Engineer. This role expands from component tasks toward system-level understanding and protection testing, drawing navigation, and safe work execution with less step-by-step direction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing.
• Familiar with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent relay platforms.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 245kV preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute relay protection testing tasks with Senior/Lead oversight.
• Perform CT/VT testing including ratio, polarity, and timing checks.
• Read and navigate one-lines, three-lines, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Document results and maintain complete test records and reports.
• Prepare turnover documentation and commissioning packages for clients.
