Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks an experienced construction manager to serve as the Owner's professional representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects in California.

This role ensures conformance with contract documents, leads QA/QC, and coordinates staff, budgets, schedules, and client communications across BKF offices.

Travel to project sites and BKF locations may be required; CALTRANS/local agency knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• California registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 8+ years of construction contract management experience on roadways/bridges.
• Knowledge of CALTRANS/local agency projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Owner's professional representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects.
• Ensure projects are built in accordance with contract documents.
• Oversee Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
• Manage staff and contract administration.
• Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and coordinate utilities.
• Prepare progress and final documentation for state/federal requirements.
• Maintain budgets, scopes, and schedules; support profitability.
