Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Youth Advocate for Booth Brown House in St. Paul, MN.

The role focuses on assisting youth at shelter and housing programs, planning activities to promote independence, and supporting clerical tasks to keep the program running smoothly. We seek individuals who will build positive relationships with youth, provide emotional support, and help connect them with community resources while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required. Two years of college preferred.
• Staff must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience in social services preferred.
• Ability to operate a computer and enter information.
• Must complete CPI, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive work atmosphere and foster respectful relationships among staff, clients and visitors.
• Meet and greet all youth professionally; build positive relationships with youth.
• Orient new youth to Booth Brown House policies.
• Complete Ramsey County paperwork for funding purposes.
• Maintain accurate logs and complete required paperwork.
• Answer phones, screen visitors, and support program administration.
