Job summary

The Salvation Army St. Cloud Corps seeks a Housing Advocate to support shelter participants and help maintain a safe, respectful environment. The role involves monitoring activities, responding to needs and crises, assisting with shelter operations and meals, and completing required documentation at 400 US Highway 10 S, St.

Cloud, MN. Evening, weekend, and overnight shifts are possible. A HS diploma and background checks are required, with preference for experience in homelessness or shelter

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health concerns, or other vulnerable populations preferred.
• Experience in shelter services, human services, customer service, residential programs, or a related setting preferred.
• Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to shelter participants and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Monitor daily shelter activities, respond to emergencies, assist with building access and meal service.
• Complete required documentation and routine administrative tasks for accurate recordkeeping.
• Offer information about shelter services and community resources and refer participants to appropriate staff.
