The Salvation Army St. Cloud Corps is seeking a Housing Advocate to support shelter participants, maintain a safe, welcoming environment, and help connect individuals to essential resources in Saint Cloud, Minnesota.

This role emphasizes compassionate, person-centered assistance and accurate documentation to support program operations. The position is part-time (24 hours per week) with shifting daytime, evening, and overnight coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience with homelessness, housing instability, or related populations preferred.
• Experience in shelter services or related settings preferred.
• Must pass background checks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to shelter participants and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Monitor daily shelter activities, respond to needs and crises, and assist with meals and access to services.
• Complete required documentation including shift notes and logs.
• Connect participants with staff, programs, or community resources based on needs.
