The Salvation Army Booth Brown House in St. Paul, MN is seeking a Youth Advocate to support youth independence and programming while performing clerical tasks to keep the program running smoothly.

The role emphasizes positive youth engagement, emotional support, and adherence to program expectations. This full-time position runs 40 hours weekly with a nightly overnight shift from 12am to 9:30am, offering a $1 shift differential during overnight hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years of college preferred.
• Staff must be at least 21 years old for licensing.
• Experience in a social service setting is preferred.
• Ability to work with a diverse youth population and maintain confidentiality.
• Must pass background checks and complete required trainings within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet all youth professionally.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth.
• Orient new youth to Booth Brown House policies.
• Communicate observations about youth.
• Assist youth in locating community resources and services.
• Facilitate groups and activities that promote youth development and independence.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
• Support youth in achieving self-identified goals.
• Ensure safety and compliance with program policies.
