Job summary

The Salvation Army St. Cloud Corps is seeking a Housing Advocate to provide direct support to shelter participants, monitor daily shelter activities, respond to crises, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for families, veterans, women, and men.

Responsibilities include assisting with shelter operations and meal service, completing required documentation promptly, maintaining clear records, supporting participants in accessing basic resources, and coordinating with staff to resolve

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health concerns, or other vulnerable populations preferred.
• Experience in shelter services, human services, customer service, residential programs, or a related setting preferred.
• Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Participant Support and Engagement: build relationships and provide compassionate, person-centered support.
• Shelter Operations, Safety, and Participant Services: monitor daily activities, enforce policies, assist with building access and meal service.
• Documentation and Administrative Support: complete required documentation and maintain records.
• Resource Information and Referrals: connect participants with shelter services and community resources.
