The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Youth Advocate to support Booth Brown House shelter and housing programs. Compensation includes a night shift differential and a full-time schedule, with a weekend rotation. The position requires CPI/ CPR/First Aid within 90 days and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; two years of college preferred.
• Must pass background checks and complete CPI, CPR, and First Aid within 90 days.
• Licensing requires staff to be at least 21 years of age and older.
• Experience in a social service setting preferred.
• Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive work atmosphere and foster relationships with staff, clients and visitors.
• Meet and greet all youth professionally and uphold program policies.
• Assist with shelter intake, documentation, and reporting.
• Provide emotional support and assist youth in achieving self-identified goals.
• Coordinate and participate in groups and activities to promote youth development.
