Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned retailer, is seeking a store management candidate to lead day-to-day operations across departments, mentor staff, and drive customer service and sales. The role emphasizes staffing, training, and adherence to company standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of management experience, 2–3 years in retail, and a proven ability to analyze performance data while fostering a safe, inclusive store culture that delivers exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure safety and Meijer standards across shifts.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
