Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leader to oversee daily operations, recruit and develop staff, and drive sales while maintaining customer service excellence. You will mentor teams, manage scheduling, training and ensure adherence to company standards across departments.

The role emphasizes staff development, inventory and safety, with a focus on delivering a premier shopping experience in our local Michigan store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, and deli.
• Strong communication delivering clear directions to team.
• Conflict resolution by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team across SDITs, hourly staff and team leaders.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure proper disciplinary actions and appropriate discharge recommendations.
• Oversee P&L, sales and shrink control for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Maintain training completion and adherence to company standards.
• Spend majority of time in-store interacting with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
