Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Store Leader to plan, direct and supervise daily store operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive sales, and ensure top-notch customer service while upholding company standards.

Applicants should have managerial experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to collaborate across departments. This role emphasizes safety, training, and hands-on leadership in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate direction clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Ensure P&L accountability, achieve sales, and maintain shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Communicate Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor and coach to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure staff are trained and have completed required training.
• Spend most time in-store interacting with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
