Job summary

Meijer in the United States seeks a store leader to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations while mentoring staff and driving sales with strong customer service. You will handle staffing, training, and performance coaching to ensure the team meets company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are beneficial.
• Strong communication with the team and clear direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and identify root causes.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial info.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Commitment to safety and required certifications completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations within store departments.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and store sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs; promote career paths.
• Document disciplinary actions and contribute to promotion decisions.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets and minimize shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Ensure team is trained and consistently meeting company standards.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation during peak hours.
• Foster safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
