Job summary

Meijer, a prominent Midwest retailer, is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance across a span of care. You will coach, develop talent, and align operations with budgeted goals to maximize sales and productivity.

You will lead Team Leaders and Leads, ensure onboarding and training, and uphold safety and merchandising standards while fostering an inclusive culture across the stores in your area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with team members with clear and precise direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
• Ability to lead an organization that practices safety at all times.
• Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs.
• Strong business acumen.
• Innovative attitude to raise Meijer standards.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Engages in candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budget and P&L.
• Drives safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Directs Team Leaders and Leads to assign daily work and training needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
