Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Clear, precise direction to team members.
• Conflict resolution and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Experience teaching suggestive selling.
• Experience leading an organization that emphasizes safe work practices.
• Ability to mentor SDITs, hourly team members and team leaders.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staff, select, and hire to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by guiding career paths and development; participate in promotions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; advise on terminations.
• Own P&L, drive sales, and control shrink.
• Demonstrate exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor the team to exceed service and sales goals and meet Meijer standards.
• Ensure thorough training and completion of required trainings.
• Spend most time in-store assisting customers and team members to ensure service quality.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable, consistent attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
