Job summary

Meijer Inc. in the United States is seeking a capable store leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor and coach team members, drive customer service, and ensure store standards are met during peak hours.

You will manage staffing, development, and promotions while aligning actions with P&L goals, controlling shrink, and promoting a safe, high-performing team culture across the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members and drive safe, efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes career development and promotion decisions with accountability for outcomes.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and discharges as needed.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales, and maintaining shrink in the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is trained and completes required training.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain attendance.
