Job summary

Meijer in the United States is seeking a store leadership professional to guide daily operations, manage staffing and train teams to deliver outstanding customer service. You will drive sales, monitor P&L, and enforce company standards while fostering a safe, engaging shopping environment.

The role emphasizes mentoring staff, implementing development plans, and leading with a customer-first approach to achieve service and sales goals across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across store areas; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices safety at all times.
• Completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs, and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained and has completed all required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
