Meijer Inc. in Illinois is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across store departments.

You mentor and coach team members, implement strategies to improve customer service and drive sales while ensuring service is quick and efficient. You will focus on staffing, training, and policy execution, maintain store standards, and promote a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce and deli) helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members and maintain safety.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for the team.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures thorough training for all job aspects and completion of required training.
• Spends most time in-store engaging with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
