Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise daily store operations in Michigan. You will mentor staff, drive customer service excellence, and manage staffing to meet business needs while upholding company standards.

The role emphasizes development, training, and ensuring a safe, high-performance environment with focus on selling and service goals across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas and customer service experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to make decisions. Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet service and sales goals.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs for the team.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales and maintain shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and completed required training.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
