Job summary

Meijer Inc. seeks a store leadership professional to plan and supervise daily store operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service and sales, and oversee staffing, development, and promotions to meet business goals.

You will manage disciplinary actions, monitor P&L and shrink, and ensure training compliance. The role emphasizes safe, high-quality service aligned with Meijer standards and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) are helpful.
• Proven ability to communicate clear directions to team members.
• Proven ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data to inform decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members across the organization and lead safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and store sales.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, and development to meet staffing needs and promotions.
• Document disciplinary actions and recommend corrective actions or terminations.
• Manage P&L, shrink, and sales performance for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast, friendly customer service and Meijer standards.
• Ensure staff complete required training and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
