Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership partner to plan, direct and supervise team members in daily operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, and ensure the store meets company standards during peak hours.

Responsibilities include staffing and hiring decisions, promoting career growth, managing expenditures and shrink, and maintaining a safe, welcoming shopping environment. Previous retail management experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to make decisions.
• Commitment to safety and Meijer Friendly Initiative.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations across various departments of the store.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded.
• Staffing decisions including selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by identifying development needs and supporting promotions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets and maintain shrink for the department.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure team is trained and maintains Meijer standards.
