Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Ohio is seeking an experienced store leader to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across multiple departments.

You will coach and mentor team members, implement strategies to improve customer service, and drive store sales while maintaining company standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2-3 years of retail experience, and at least 1 year of management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze information.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Serves as the mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs and ensuring quick, efficient service.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by developing career paths and identifying development needs.
• Documents disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures team training across all job aspects and required training completion.
• Spends majority of time in-store interacting with customers and team members.
