Job summary

Westmont Living, Inc. is seeking a compassionate MED TECH for Westmont of Morgan Hill, an assisted living and memory care community in Morgan Hill, CA.

The role focuses on medication setup, assisting residents with self-administration, and accurate documentation to ensure resident safety. You will work under RN supervision and contribute to a caring, home-like environment with a strong emphasis on compliance and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Medication setup and assistance with self-administration per physician/RN orders
• Accurate MAR documentation with no blanks
• Compliance with policies and state requirements for medication assistance
• Criminal background clearance prior to start
• Health screen (Physical, TB, Drug test) and basic first aid within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with self-administration of medications
• Set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD
• Document medication assistance on MARs immediately after assistance; leaves no blanks
• Document reasons for PRN and effectiveness of medication on MARs
• Maintain compliance with policy and state requirements for medication documentation

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self- administration of their medications
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
  • Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
  • Leaves no blanks on MARs
  • Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
